CLEAN X WEI PANEL
Under the Office of Sustainability's first annual Earth Fest, we collaborated with the Wisconsin Energy Institute to host a panel on Earth Day with three empowering speakers. We engaged in insightful discussion surrounding the University's sustainability goals, Indigenous Knowledge, and the future of energy. The audience asked thought-provoking and inspiring questions and put everyone in an Earth Day spirit. Pictured from left to right are our three speakers: Josh Arnold from the Office of Sustainability, Lizzie Condon from the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts, & Letters, Omar Poler, the Indigenous Education Coordinator at UW-Madison, and our very own Anna Englebert as the host.
EARTH FEST TRIVIA
Under the Office of Sustainability's first annual Earth Fest and in collaboration with the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies, CLEAN hosted our bi-annual trivia session, titled Earth Fest trivia. This event was geared towards engaging the community of Madison to educate and promote sustainable practices and fun facts. The winners left with exhilarating prizes and all participants left with a greener perspective. We look forward to hosting again in Spring 2025!

HALLO-CLEAN TRIVIA
In collaboration with the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies, we hosted our first annual Hallo-CLEAN Trivia, a night filled with exciting and spooky questions to educate and give the audience a fright on scary statistics. The event was a hit and the top three groups were awarded prizes.
SUSTAINABILITY ROUNDTABLE DINNER
In collaboration with the Office of Sustainability, ASM, and SlowFoodUW, we celebrated the second year of our roundtable dinners through a night of networking, sustainability brainstorming, and a delicious dinner. The focus of the event was to invite students from all over campus to talk about sustainability issues at Madison and what they hope to see in the future. It was a great chance to network with other student organizations and get working on future projects!

EmPOWERing Youth for a Brighter Future
On Earth Day, in addition to our march down State St, we worked with the Arboretum, HELIOS, and the UW Office of Sustainability to celebrate Earth Day through a series of events at the Arboretum. We celebrated the installation of solar panels on the roof of the Arboretum's Visitor Center and discussed the awareness of climate change and ways to work together to work towards a more sustainable future. There was a great outcome of attendance of students and staff from UW-Madison and High Schools from around the area. There were many organizations, CLEAN being one of them, tabling to educate everyone on what they do and how to get involved.
MARCH (2)4th TO EARTH DAY
In collaboration with ASM, we came together as passionate students and activists to get the campus involved in Earth Day celebrations. Starting on Friday, March 24th, we began the celebrations, spending each Friday leading up to Earth day leading different themed events in collaboration with many campus organizations. On Earth Day, we led a passionate and peaceful march on State Street to the Capitol. We take pride and pleasure in working on events like these and enjoy seeing environmental awareness spread across campus.

UW DIVESTMENT COALITION BANNER DROP & DAY OF ACTION
Some of our CLEAN members worked as campus organizers with UW Divestment Coalition (UWDC), a system-wide student group campaigning for UW endowments, trusts, and investment to divest from fossil fuels. We co-hosted two direct actions in Madison this semester. First, a banner drop and petitioning event outside Gordon Dining Hall during the November 9th Board of Regents meeting held in Madison. CLEAN members worked with students from the ASM Sustainability Committee and Social and Environmental Business Advocates (SEBA) to paint a banner reading, "Divest from Fossil Fuels" and asked passing students to sign the UWDC petition.
On December 10th, CLEAN members worked again with UWDC, SEBA, and ASM Sustainability Committee to host a "Divestment Day of Action". Supported by UWDC members from UW Stevens Point and the other UW-Madison organizations, CLEAN members held a sit-in at the Board of Regents Meeting with signs, banners, and sporting orange beanies (the color of the divestment movement). The board president, Edmund Manydeeds, personally acknowledged the action and agreed to meet with UWDC organizers to discuss how the Regents can support divestment. Joined by Madison students from the general campus body, the CLEAN and other organizers led a march from East Campus Mall the the Wisconsin Alumni Association Building on Lake Street. The march was followed by a rally with speakers, petitioning, and the distribution of educational resources to attendees. Follow @uwdivestment coalition on Instagram to follow the UW divestment movement progress!
SPREADING CLEAN'S PETITION
CLEAN members held two petitioning events this semester. Stationed first at Memorial Union and later at Union South, we asked invited students to (1) sign our petition calling for a renewable energy transition by 2035, (2) make personal climate pledges, and (3) share their ideas for improving campus sustainability. Posters researched and created by CLEAN members informed passing students about the university's spooky lack of renewable energy (less than 10% in 2021) and the impacts of carbon emission-caused climate change on winters in Wisconsin.
Stay tuned for more petitioning events this Spring (2022) and use the link on our homepage to sign and share our petition!
